Permanent makeup removal - Brows & lips

Laser PMU (Permanent Makeup) removal - Brows & Lips

Laser PMU (Permanent Makeup) removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses lasers to break down and lighten or remove permanent makeup, like eyebrow tattoos, eyeliner, or lip pigmentation, that the individual no longer desires. The process involves targeting the pigment with laser energy, which fragments the ink particles, allowing the body's immune system to gradually eliminate them.

How it Works:

  1. Targeted Laser Energy:A laser emits pulses of light energy that are absorbed by the permanent makeup pigment.
  2. Pigment Fragmentation:The absorbed energy causes the pigment particles to shatter into smaller pieces.
  3. Immune System Elimination:The body's immune system then removes these fragmented particles over time, leading to a gradual fading of the permanent makeup.
  4. Multiple Sessions:Typically, multiple laser removal sessions are needed to achieve the desired level of fading or removal.

Why it's Used:

  • Unwanted PMU: To correct or remove permanent makeup that is poorly placed, outdated, or no longer desired.
  • Style Changes: To remove or lighten PMU before getting a new, updated design.
  • Incorrect Pigmentation: To address fading, unevenness, or color changes in existing PMU.
  • Allergic Reactions: To remove or lighten PMU if the individual experiences an allergic reaction to the pigment.

Important Considerations:

  • Consultation is Key:A consultation with a qualified practitioner is crucial to assess suitability, discuss potential results, and understand the process.
  • Multiple Sessions:Laser PMU removal is a gradual process, and multiple sessions are usually required.
  • Individual Results Vary:The number of sessions and the extent of fading depend on factors like ink density, skin type, and the specific pigment used.
  • Potential Side Effects:Temporary redness, swelling, and skin discoloration are common side effects.

Protocol:

  • For best results,  series of 3 session is recommended,  4 – 6 weeks apart.

TATOO LASER REMOVAL

Tattoo Laser Removal

Laser tattoo removal is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses focused laser light to break down unwanted tattoo ink particles, allowing the body's natural processes to gradually fade and remove the tattoo. It involves directing high-intensity laser beams at the tattoo, which are absorbed by the ink, causing it to shatter into smaller fragments. The body's immune system then eliminates these fragments, leading to the fading of the tattoo over a series of treatments.

How it works:

  • Targeted energy:Lasers emit specific wavelengths of light that are selectively absorbed by tattoo ink pigments, while minimizing damage to the surrounding skin.
  • Ink fragmentation:The absorbed light energy heats and fragments the ink particles into smaller pieces.
  • Natural elimination:The body's immune system recognizes these smaller particles as waste and gradually removes them through the lymphatic system.
  • Multiple sessions:Tattoo removal typically requires multiple treatment sessions, spaced several weeks apart, to allow for adequate ink clearance.

Factors influencing removal:

  • Tattoo color:Some colors like black and dark blue are easier to remove, while others like green, yellow, and white can be more challenging.
  • Tattoo size and location:Larger and older tattoos may require more treatments.
  • Skin type:Individual skin types and reactions can influence the effectiveness and speed of removal.
  • Individual response:Everyone's body reacts differently to laser treatments, so the number of sessions needed varies.

Other important points:

  • Pain management:Discomfort during treatment is often compared to the sensation of a rubber band snapping against the skin, and numbing cream or cooling methods can be used to manage pain.
  • Potential side effects:While generally safe, laser tattoo removal can cause temporary redness, swelling, blistering, or changes in skin pigmentation.
  • Consultation:A consultation with a qualified practitioner is crucial to assess the tattoo, discuss expectations, and determine the best treatment approach.

Protocol:

  • Treatments are spaced out 4 – 6 weeks apart.  Number of sessions required varies from one tattoo to another based on ink saturation and colour.

Carbon facial peel

Carbon Facial or Hollywood Peel

A carbon facial, also known as a "Hollywood peel" or "China Doll facial", is a non-invasive laser treatment that combines a liquid carbon application with laser technology to exfoliate, cleanse, and rejuvenate the skin. It's a popular option for addressing various skin concerns like enlarged pores, acne, and uneven skin tone.

Here's a breakdown of how it works:

  1. Carbon Application:A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin, penetrating deep into the pores.
  2. Laser Action:A laser is then passed over the skin, targeting the carbon particles.
  3. Exfoliation and Cleansing:The laser energy heats and fragments the carbon, removing dead skin cells, oil, and impurities that have bonded with the carbon.
  4. Collagen Stimulation:The heat from the laser also stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin, promoting a firmer and more youthful appearance.

Benefits of a Carbon Facial:

  • Deep Cleansing: Removes dirt, oil, and impurities from pores.
  • Exfoliation: Gently removes dead skin cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin.
  • Pore Refinement: Helps to minimize the appearance of enlarged pores.
  • Acne and Oil Control: Reduces acne breakouts and regulates oil production.
  • Skin Rejuvenation: Stimulates collagen production for a more youthful and radiant complexion.
  • Even Skin Tone: Helps to reduce the appearance of pigmentation and uneven skin tone.
  • No Downtime: Generally considered a comfortable procedure with minimal to no downtime.

Who is it suitable for?Carbon facials are suitable for a wide range of skin types and are often recommended for those with oily skin, acne, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, and signs of aging.

Protocol:

  • For best results,  series of 3 session is recommended,  4 weeks apart.

Carbon peel - underarms and bikini line

Carbon Peel - Underarms and Bikini line

Carbon peel for underarm & bikini line laser treatment,  is a non-invasive procedure that uses a layer of liquid carbon and laser energy to rejuvenate and brighten the underarm area. It can help reduce the appearance of dark skin area, smooth skin texture, and improve overall skin tone by exfoliating the skin, removing dead skin cells, and addressing hyperpigmentation.

How it works:

  1. Carbon application:A thin layer of liquid carbon is applied to the underarm area, where it penetrates the pores.
  2. Laser application: A Q-switched laser is used to target the carbon, which vaporizes along with dead skin cells, oil, and debris.
  3. Collagen stimulation:The laser also provides gentle thermal stimulation, which can help boost collagen production.

Benefits:

  • Reduces hyperpigmentation:The laser breaks down melanin, the pigment that causes dark spots, helping to lighten the underarm area.
  • Exfoliates and smooths:The carbon and laser action remove dead skin cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin.
  • Reduces acne and oiliness:The treatment can help to clear out pores and reduce oil production, potentially minimizing acne breakouts.
  • Minimizes pores:By removing debris and stimulating collagen, the treatment can help to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.
  • Improves skin tone:The overall effect is a more even, radiant skin tone in the underarm area.

Things to note:

  • Non-invasive:The treatment is non-surgical and generally well-tolerated, with minimal downtime.
  • Multiple sessions:Results may be visible after one session, but multiple sessions are often recommended for optimal results.
  • Individual results may vary:The number of sessions needed and the extent of improvement can vary depending on individual skin type and concerns.
  • Potential side effects:Mild redness and warmth are common immediately after the treatment, but typically subside quickly.

Protocol:

  • For best results,  series of 3 session is recommended,  4 – 6 weeks apart.

SKIN HYPERPIGMENTATION

Skin Hyperpigmentation - face, skin & lips

Laser treatments for skin hyperpigmentation, or dark spots, use focused light to target and break down excess melanin, the pigment responsible for the discoloration. This process, often involving different laser types and wavelengths depending on the specific condition and skin tone, can effectively fade or eliminate the appearance of pigmentation. The treated pigment is then naturally eliminated by the body. How it works:

  • Targeting Melanin: Lasers emit specific wavelengths of light that are absorbed by melanin in the skin, heating and shattering the pigment cells.
  • Natural Elimination: The fragmented pigment is then gradually removed by the body's natural processes, leading to a reduction in the appearance of hyperpigmentation.
  • Different Laser Types: Various lasers, including fractional lasers, IPL (intense pulsed light), and Q-switched lasers, are used depending on the type and depth of pigmentation.
  • Personalized Approach: A dermatologist or skincare professional will assess the individual's skin and pigmentation to determine the most appropriate laser and settings for optimal results.

Common types of hyperpigmentation treated with lasers: Freckles, Age spots (also known as sun spots or liver spots), Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) from acne or injury, and Melasma.

Benefits of laser treatment:

  • Effective for stubborn pigmentation: Lasers can reach deeper layers of the skin where topical treatments may not be effective.
  • Precise and controlled: Lasers target pigmentation with precision, minimizing damage to surrounding skin.
  • Stimulates skin renewal: Some laser treatments can also promote collagen production, improving skin texture and tone.
  • Can be tailored to different skin tones: Advancements in laser technology allow for safer treatment of darker skin tones by adjusting energy settings.

Important considerations:

  • Multiple sessions: Typically, multiple treatment sessions are needed to achieve desired results.
  • Potential side effects:Redness, swelling, sensitivity, and peeling are common side effects, but these are usually temporary.
  • Consultation is key: A thorough consultation with a qualified professional is crucial to determine the suitability of laser treatment and to address any concerns.

Protocol:

  • For best results,  series of 3 session is recommended,  4 – 6 weeks apart.
